How does coaching work?
Professional life coaching can be done in my office or on the phone, so you can do it from anywhere in the world! We'll begin by identifying what area of your life you want to work on. Once you create your ideal goal, we'll develop a plan of action for you to reach it. With a coach you can set better goals, create momentum, stay focused, let go of whatever has been holding you back. You'll have more confidence and the support you need to make the changes you want. All of it is designed to lead you toward accomplishing your goal. Call me for more information on how coaching will fit into and benefit your life.

Is coaching just another form of counseling or therapy?
No, coaching is not a form of therapy. The word "therapy" implies a need for healing. Coaching is not about healing, but about building on the health that is already present. While therapy spends a great deal of time delving into the past, coaching is heavily oriented toward the future. Starting with the "here and now," it looks at where you want to go and helps you pull together the resources to get there.

How could coaching work for me?
A person hires a coach because they want more out of life. You are making a commitment by getting a professional coach, so you are better focused on your goals/dreams, take them more seriously, and benefit from the energy created by the two of you working together toward the same goal. You develop new skills and have the confidence to take smarter chances. An Olympic champion may be a natural athlete, but it is a coach who shows him or her how to use those natural talents to achieve a dream. A professional life coach can do the same for your personal or career goals.

How can coaching help me in a relationship?
Relationship coaching is for those who are in a relationship that needs some improvement and haven't been able to experience the relationship they want. Relationship coaching is more about getting more out of relationships rather than therapy's focus on healing. If you are looking for healing of past hurts, check out the therapy section of Marriage Fully Alive. If you are still unsure, give us a call and we'll help you decide which direction would be best.

What is relationship coaching?
Relationship coaching assists you and your partner to create the relationship you desire. Whether we meet by phone or in person, I work with you to:
- Articulate a shared relationship vision of what you want as a couple
- Design and implement a plan to make the vision a reality
- Clarify your values - the essence of who you are and what is important to you
- Stay focused so that you do not give up or lose momentum
- Release obstacles that hold you back from having an extraordinary relationship
- Experience a richer, more loving and fulfilling relationship

Is there an ideal relationship coaching client?
Yes, ideal clients are couples who are committed to their relationship and who recognize that both partners share the responsibility to make the relationship better. Despite the challenges they face, they are aware of the strengths of the relationship - what's already working - as a way of moving toward the vision of their ideal relationship. They do not expend a lot of energy blaming their partner for passed hurts or disappointments. Regardless of what has occurred in the past, they want to consciously create a mutually satisfying relationship with a focus on the future and with a clear intention toward action rather than deep introspection. Whether you are in a new relationship, 'empty-nesters' who have been together for many years, or experiencing a relationship challenge that you want to address, coaching provides a safe and supportive structure to clarify your vision and narrow the gap between where you are now and where you want to be!

Does coaching work for both personal and business goals?
It certainly does. Many people who have had success with coaching in one area of their life continue using a coach to improve another area. And a coach can help you identify which area of your life really is the priority for you. In fact, a coach is trained to help you achieve the delicate balance between your personal and business life that often is so elusive.

Why would a successful person need a coach?
People who have achieved success know the importance of making an investment to maintain it for the future. Acquiring new skills, staying ahead of the competition, setting goals and reaching them are part of their everyday life. Coaching can provide that extra edge that a successful person needs to achieve their goals and be happier in both their personal and business lives.
